The Ring of Berlin – “Architectures” is a journey around Berlin along the railway line known as the S-Bahn Ring.
Observing the city from the windows of a train means discovering its architectures and its most remote areas from a completely different perspective, far from the usual routes.
Since my first visit to Berlin, I have been fascinated by the alternative vision offered by this circular railway.
The S-Bahn Ring is not just a means of transport, but a privileged vantage point that reveals an unseen city made up of surprising details and glimpses. From this inspiration, the photographic project The Ring of Berlin was born, from which I chose to extract a focus dedicated exclusively to architecture.
Through a series of images captured along the route, the project tells the many facets of a complex and fascinating city, offering an alternative and personal vision of its urban essence.
The sequence alternates perspectives looking towards the heart of the city or opening outwards, as if the gaze were constantly shifting between belonging and distance.
